The ParticipACTION Community Challenge is in June and the York Region Women’s Foundation has been selected for a grant to support physical activity and sport participation, thanks to funding from the Government of Canada.

Our free program will introduce the sport of soccer to underserved girls, ages 6-10 years old, from diverse communities.  Opportunities for girls to get active are limited, and girls from racialized groups are further removed from sports and physical activity.  Our barrier-free program will give girls a safe and welcoming space to get active, connect and learn sustainable physical literacy skills.
